Tamil Nadu’s tourism is about to get a mobile boost. The state’s tourism is witnessing a move towards digital processes. The Tamil Nadu Tourism Department has launched a mobile app for the benefit of both domestic and international tourists. The Hindu reports that the ‘Pinakin’ app not only has information on tourism in the state, but also boasts audio facilities. An official release said that available in two languages, the app covers world heritage tourist sites like Mamallapuram, Thanjavur Big Temple, Gangaikonda Cholapuram and Darasuram. Also, Pinakin is available on both Android and iOS, and will further provide information on other major tourist destinations in the state, in a phased manner.
