A new audio guide will reveal tidbits about heritage spots in city
Revealing little-known bits about Namma Bengaluru, an audio guide will soon be by your side while on a stroll at Lalbagh or a visit to heritage and historic places like Trinity Church in the city. The state government will soon launch an audio guide, said to be the first in the country, briefing you on history and heritage spots in the city. All you need is to make a call.
The initiative is part of an already existing audio guide app, Pinakin, showcasing heritage places like Government Museum, Tipu’s Summer Palace in city. After covering four places, including Belur Channakeshava Temple, Mysore Palace in the state, the state tourism department will have Trinity Church, Halasuru Someshwara temple and Lalbagh included in the app. The audio guide on Lalbagh will go live on August 3.
With the Pinakin app witnessing an overwhelming response of over 30,000 downloads, the government is going a step ahead by introducing the audio guide. “We have all the spots covered in Kannada and English. Our focus has been on local language and local heritage,” Srikanth Iyer, CEO of Aseuro Technologies, which is developing the tool, told BM. “We have been coming with several firsts, including the app, and have witnessed a positive response from tourists,” a senior official said.
